[Review] HGSeed - Gundam Astray Red Frame [Flight Unit] (9 Points)

Design 10/10
     Can't denied that Astray Red Frame looks awesome! Well... First, I thought that this kit is nothing but red Gundam with a Japanese-style sword. but I was wrong.

     Begin with the head, the flatter head makes this kit different, for me, weird but cool! The huge fin on its head also great.

     Next, the shoulders and arms, it's like this unit wears full armor even its arms. (In these pics, I paint more red color of the white armor and put more decals on the right hands.

      The body, the black and red armor is very contrasted makes this kit look beautiful. Moreover, the armor at the back makes this kit bulky.

     The skirt, I love the design. The front and back skirt with some color separation, The side skirts with panel line is very good ones.

     The legs and feet, the bulky design! For me, this kits legs and feet are bigger than other kits. Moreover, the sign, the panel line, the color separation is very wonderful!

     Last one, the flight unit, I bought this kit because of this part. This unit looks good and moreover, it can be attached to most of other kits. Whicmeansan, you can customize other kits with flight unit. In addition, this unit can remove wings so you can be attached weapons, customized parts. Importantly, this unit itself has a hole to attach the weapon or parts!

Weapon (9/10)

    There are 5 weapons provided in this kit. Bucue's head with beam, Beam saber, Beam rifle, shield and Katana.

     Begin with Bucue's head, this weapon is very nice when using with Astray Red Frame BUT!!! it design to use with the right hand only! OMG! If you want to use this Bucue's head on the leaf hand. You must flip the hand into the weird direction. and I assumed that you won't do that, right?

     Beam saber, the common weapon ever, yeah nothing to say. Common as usual.

     Beam rifle, oh my god... everything just good until I found this weapon! All black beam rifle!? I built at least 3 kits with a rifle. They are all decoration parts but this one's not! If you want your beam rifle more colorful (or even more color than only black color) you must paint it by yourself. (Really?!)

     Sheild, this kit's shield is better than the original Astray Red Frame, there is a color separation, white, red and black. Moreover, there is a special part to attach to the shield and let you keep beam rifle and shield together. Nicely done...

     Katana, this is the unique weapon of this kit (but you can use this katana with other kits if you want) However, the color separation of this katana is a bit bad especially, the sword's sheath. You have to put on the sticker at the end of the sheath which is very easy pelt off if you touch it too much.

    

Articulation (10/10)

     Not all of the kits can cross its arms but this one. This kits articulation is great for HG. It supports most of the action posts. Let's see the pictures below.

Color (10/10)
     Don't expect 'all correct' color from HG kit. This kit 'miscolor' is very few... his hand. His finger should have red and white color but this kit put all red instead. You can paint it by yourself.

Warning!

     1. You must put on the sword's blade sticker correctly in one time. If you try to thin the sticker out. It'll cause a wave mark on the sticker... so be careful!
     2. The fin on its head is very long one so... beware not to break it!

Fixing the problem

     1. The side skirts are easily drop off... you can use blu tack to make it more sticky.

Conclusion (9/10)

    This kit is WORTH buying. Nothing to worry about fragile parts or various 'miscolor' parts. Nice looking, perfect weapons, wonderful flight unit. However, minus one for cheap-looking rifle and easily drop side skirts.

    If you want an Astray Red Frame don't bother buying the original Astray Red Frame. You can skip it and buy this one.
